EYEGLASSES FAQs

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY GLASSES?

  • Store your glasses in a case when not in use.
  • Always spray or wet your lenses prior to wiping them with a soft microfiber cloth.
  • No specific cleaner required but we highly recommend a cleaner that is ok to use with anti-glare (AR). You will be given a cleaner and a cloth with glasses purchased.
  • Do Not lay your lenses face down.
  • Avoid using abrasive substances or harsh chemicals on or around your eyeglasses.
  • Do NOT use pre moistened lens cleaning wipes!
  • DO NOT expose glasses to extreme temperature (ex. Leaving glasses in car)

CAN I USE MY OWN FRAME TO GET NEW LENSES?

Our certified opticians and lab techs will use the utmost care when evaluating your frame for insertion of new lenses. However, frames may be worn to the extent that the frame will not be recommended for reuse. Please be aware that any frame material older than (2) years may be unable to withstand the stress of removing old lenses and inserting new lenses. Your prescription lenses are a valuable investment in providing you with the highest quality vision. Because of this, we may recommend you order a new or better-quality frame.

*Optometry Group cannot be responsible for frame breakage when reusing or adjusting an existing, non-warranted frame. Inserting into or attempting to repair any eyewear brand that we are not an authorized dealer for will typically void any existing manufacturers warranties. If a patient’s frame breaks during this process, the replacement cost of a new frame will be at the patient’s expense. *

CAN I GET MY PUPILLARY DISTANCE (PD)?

Available at your request. *The State of TN does not require the release of this measurement as a part of your prescription. *

CAN I CANCEL MY GLASSES ORDER?

In the event you wish to cancel your order it must be done by the close of the business day to receive a full refund. *All costs incurred once a prescription order has been started at the lab regardless of completion will be the customer’s responsibility therefore may not be eligible for a full refund. *

DO MY GLASSES HAVE A WARRANTY?

All new frames have a *free* 2-year manufacturer’s warranty, from date of purchase, against manufacturer’s defects and normal wear and tear.

We will repair or replace any defective frame or damaged part free of charge. Frames can be replaced when the original frame is returned and is beyond repair.

Premium Lens coatings have a separate manufacturer’s warranty against defects and visually significant scratches and will be replaced free of charge for 2 years from the date of purchase. Lens replacements will be made in the original prescription and materials.
*Warranties are excluded from all budget packages as they are already discounted.

LOST/STOLEN OR PET DAMAGED GLASSES ARE NOT COVERED BY ANY WARRANTY. THE LENGTH OF WARRANTIES MAY VARY WHEN LENSES ARE PURCHASED THROUGH INSURANCE.

WHAT IF MY PRESCRIPTION (RX) CHANGES AFTER THE PURCHASE?

For prescriptions by doctors at Optometry Group: An office visit to recheck the prescription will be provided and new lenses will be made at no charge within 60 days. If an Optometry Group prescription is filled elsewhere: If an RX change is needed, we will not be responsible for any charges incurred. Reputable optical dispensaries allow doctor RX changes at no charge, but it is up to the patient to inquire about such policies in advance of purchase.

For prescriptions written by other doctors: Eyeglass lenses will be re-made within 60 days of dispensing. An RX change after one free remake or after 60 days will be charged the Usual & Customary price (U&C) on lenses.
Non-adapt/Rx changes with vision insurance: *Most vision insurances will allow ONE remake; any additional remake is the U&C fee and the patient’s responsibility*
